Took a new member of the GFWC out for their 1st time trolling, EVER. After hearing John Savu speak at the GFWC meeting (7/28) we followed John’s lead. We did EXACTLY what John Savu reported at the meeting. 50 feet back, add 2 oz snap weight, back additional 60 feet. Line counter reel reads 110 feet. 1.8 MPH, 20 to 30 FOW. Flicker shads. We caught the bigger walleye on Lead core w 6’ floro leader 137 feet back. 1.8 mph. SO many fish is 20 to 40 FOW. 30+ walleye (1/2 were 12 to 15 inches) the 22 incher weighed over 3lbs. Fat and healthy Crappie and Walleye. Caught SO many fish. Caught 2 catfish over 10 lbs TROLLING cranks . My partner caught a 6 lb large mouth. Great fishing day.
